TRAVEL TRAINING

PROGRAM OVERVIEW

TCSA offers additional training opportunities to our travel players outside of their regular team practices. These sessions are held weekly during the fall and spring seasons with our staff trainers.

Fast Footwork

  • Designed to work on a player’s individual comfort level with the ball
  • Players work on ball control, dribbling, first touches, and footskills
  • Sessions give the player an opportunity to practice what they have learned in training in addition to learning new moves in a ‘no pressure’ environment
  • Players are encouraged to be more creative with the ball in 1v1 play, which allows them to get more touches on the ball. Repetition is the key to mastery – the more players practice individually, the more comfortable they become using what they’ve been taught against other players in game situations.

Goalkeeper Training

  • Focuses on the skills necessary for a player to be confident in this vital role
  • Players will learn technical details of the position and practice proper techniques and tactics based on their age and ability
  • Players will understand the psychological and physical demands of the position
  • Goalkeeper Training is offered during the fall and spring outdoor seasons at no extra cost to our travel players
