The Classic Travel program runs under separate age divisions by birth year. The organization and participation rules are dictated by the Illinois Youth Soccer Association (IYSA), and further, the Illinois Womens Soccer League (IWSL) for girls and the Northern Illinois Soccer League (NISL) for boys. This program serves nearly 800 of our youth who are looking for a bit more of a challenge and a commitment to soccer.
Classic teams are coached by licensed parents and trained by Tri-Cities professional coaching staff. Teams have the option to be coached by a professional coach as well. Teams have 10 weeks of training each season with two practices each week, one being led by a professional trainer and the other led by the parent coach. Each season (fall and spring) is comprised of 8-9 league games, mostly on Sundays, played throughout the Chicagoland area. Teams play against similar skilled club teams, sorted by age and level each season. Classic teams will participate in two tournaments per year. Indoor league and training are optional for Classic teams but players are strongly encouraged to participate. Most teams do participate in winter league play. The training focus for Classic Teams is to improve skill through player development by offering competition at multiple levels thereby encouraging team development. Classic Travel is a great option for the multi-sport athlete.
